You can get to the restaurant by car. From there, walk a short distance to the large launch site, which is prepared with mats. Altitude difference: approx. 700 m The launch site is large enough for up to 4 gliders to be set up at the same time. The large mats mean that no lines can get caught anywhere. The kite launches are on the left (looking in the direction of launch). There are two ramps, which are also covered with mats. Afterwards every pilot can expect an unforgettable flight over the Lac d'Annecy. Who can gain height gropes his way north up to the narrowest point at the lake. With sufficient height the lake can now be crossed to find a thermal connection again on the west side. Whoever does not succeed in a cross-country flight is content with a nice flight to the landing site and simply enjoys the mountain scenery. Those who want to fly at the Col de la Forclaz can either take the shuttle bus from the landing place in Doussard or from the 2nd bend after the pass height the legs. In approx. 10 minutes the sporty airplane is at the starting place. For hang gliders the challenge is too big. vTalloires City Hall offers them (and of course everyone else) an access card for a nominal fee of 10 €, which is rechargeable and does not expire. 2,50€ will be deducted per trip. A stone's throw away from Doussard is the south-facing airfield at Col de Epinne. The terrain is particularly suitable for mornings to noon and reliably produces slope upcurrents that are thermally interspersed. The launch site is a bit narrow and steep. Mutual assistance contributes to a smooth take-off. At the landing site Patrick Berod runs a small aircraft shop with an adjoining restaurant and café. After dinner, the afternoon flying areas Bisanne Nord, Fenetre 7, L´Ebaudiaz, Chamaux, Val Pellouse or Allevard are announced as dessert. Less frequented airfield for beautiful evening flights with large and simple take-off and landing areas. If the base reaches 2,200 meters MSL, the start at Semnoz promises an unusual start into the last part of the small lake lap. The ambitious pilot tries to fly out about 400 to 500 meters of start elevation after the start in the slope upwind and in the thermals. With this height he sets off for the Roc des Boeufs. The edge is usually already marked by soaring pilots who have just crossed the Lac de Annecy. The onward flight from the Roc des Boeufs to Doussard to the main landing site follows the pattern of the small lake lap. If the pilot heads for the landing site from the airfield Semnoz in Viuz la Chiesaz, there is a bar in the village. This is where you can pass the time until your last flight colleague has landed. On take-off, park in the large parking lot in front of the summer toboggan run. On landing, park in the small parking lot alongside the landing area. If full, park in the village, a 5-minute walk away. This site is subject to several regulations. CLICK ON THE LINK TO THE SITE DATA SHEET TO SEE THE CORRESPONDING PHOTOS: 1) It is strictly forbidden to fly in the area reserved for model aircraft. This zone is active all year round and is centered on coordinates 45°47'13 "N, 006°05'39 "E. It extends 500 m on either side of this point, 500 m in front of the terrain and 250 m above it. 2) From May 1 to October 30, a municipal by-law prohibits paragliding on the Semnoz outside the official take-off zone: do not inflate, take off or rest on the plateau during this period. 3) A pair of peregrine falcons used to nest at the hang-up on the Montagne de Banges, just behind Cusy. Before going along the western faces to Revard, it is essential to check whether the quietude bubble is activated by consulting Biodiv'Sport. If it is, fly over the nest with a minimum radius of 250 m in any direction (minimum altitude 1200 m). 4) If you want to fly from Veyrier to Semnoz for a "grand tour du lac", find out about the restricted zone LF-R 185/22 SACCONGES above the military firing range of the 27th Bataillon de Chasseurs Alpins. This zone is centered on 45° 52' 1.0E-4" N 6° 6' 16.9999" E and extends over a radius of 700m. It starts at ground level and rises to 6000 ft (approx. 1830m) - see photo on terrain sheet. It can be activated by NOTAM every day except Friday, Sunday and public holidays. Monthly NOTAMs are available on the AIS website and should be consulted before attempting this transition. It is also possible to contact the firing officer on 04 50 33 46 13 to check whether the zone is active. 5) The Annecy CTR approaches the Semnoz, particularly at the end of Lake Annecy. It extends from the ground to an altitude of 4000 ft (approx. 1220 m). If you're making the Veyrier-Semnoz transition, it's imperative to stay above 1220 m altitude if you're travelling through this zone. You'll also be flying over this CTR if you choose to start on the plain from Semnoz, the zone starting around 200 m west of the official landing. Respect the mountain pastures. Altitude 1437m

Attention - High-voltage power line In 2017 the narrow starting area was completely renovated. The result is an optimally inclined starting position where every pilot can live out the DHV's starting doctrine. The cable car travels quite comfortably up to the top and, like in Le Grand Bornand, has low daily rates. At the top the pilot can expect a magnificent view over the Savoi Alps. Rarely are there more than five pilots on the starting grid, so that the Sambuy is very relaxed. The small kiosk at the starting place offers some snacks and drinks....deceleration is announced. We had a special experience in the group during a gliding flight over the Col de Thamie to the Iseretal. An experienced pilot flies forward and looks after his ducklings. There are plenty of landing possibilities in front of the Col de Thamie. Short take-off on an irregular slope. Watch out for obstacles. Good control of the wing in a forward (or reverse) launch is recommended. Slope is steep, short, and narrow. Barely enough space for the paraglider. From the center of Villaz, climb towards Chalet Chapuit. At the ONF gate, take the forest path up to the ridge. Altitude 1260m
