Ditch + power line at landing. Caution in North and West winds.
Ideal for South - South-East winds.
The east-facing landing area performs well even in moderate winds. It's one of the best places for easterly return weather in the Southern Alps.
Flying is not recommended with north and west winds.
Pleasantly steep, approx. 40m x 50m large Mediterranean meadow interspersed with small stones. - Beware of winds from the north or west!
From the center of Banon, head towards the cemetery and continue along the combe for 1 km, then turn right. Continue along the more or less passable runway (depending on rainfall), and park at the parking lot 1.2 km down the road. The south-facing take-off is 25 m down on the right. The more easterly take-off is 30 m further on (at the same level).
From the village, it's a 30-minute walk to take-off.
From the landing, take the Route de l'Armée heading south, then the 1st right, towards the village. In the village, follow rue de la Bourgade ("Le Bleuet" bookshop is at your back, pass between "Les Voyageurs" restaurant and "La Suite"). Look out for a hiking sign for Grou de Bane on your right, by a porch. Follow the sign to the take-off point (20-30 mins). From there, keep to the right. Enjoy the flight.
