Following the fires in July 2022, access to the forest remains very limited and restricted to authorized areas only.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Gaillouneys Site: From the Petit Nice parking lot, follow the "Accès Plage" signs.
Access the launch site via the beach heading north.
Depending on wind direction, launch from the western valley just before the bunkers, or from the northern valley just after. Please use these designated launch areas to protect the site from sand and vegetation erosion.
Above all, do not take off before the area halfway between the parking lot and the launch site. ONF property; logbook available.
During the summer, the southern flight zone is strictly prohibited starting from the "bee" sign at the supervised beach. You may be fined for landing past the sign.
Sabloney - Robinson Site: - In front of Pyla Camping. Parking strictly prohibited along the roadside. Drop-off is tolerated; then park for free 2 km further on at Petit Nice.
Walk along the side of Pyla Camping on your right for 10 minutes; the takeoff platform is at the end. It is not reserved. However, please be courteous and do not impose yourself.
Both sites are very crowded during the summer.
Helmet and accelerator required.
To the right or north, the large dune offers plenty of space for low-altitude training; the slope is gentle.
To the south, the terrain rises.
Everywhere, apply the rules of right-of-way with common sense; don’t knock tandem riders to the ground. Stay courteous at all times.
Fly with proper footwear (scrap metal in the sand).
Do not fly over the terrain in winds exceeding 20 km/h.
Protect this fragile site; do not trample the beach grass or cause sand to shift unnecessarily.
This site is under your responsibility as a practitioner. It is also classified as a heritage site; this means that while we are admired for our harmonious practices, authorities may seek to confine us to very restricted areas. The future of our freedom to fly depends on our behavior.
