All meadow launches allow you to fly in almost any wind direction (except SE-S).

Nord offers plenty of space to set up several kites and lay out gliders. Launching only individually. Slightly inclined meadow with edge in steep slope for optimal launching, also ideal for kites. Be careful with wind from the right for kites!
East has a somewhat narrower forest aisle and the windsock is slightly offset and can therefore 'lie' a little. Sufficient space in the rear area to set up several kites. There is enough space in the launch area to lay out several kites for individual launches. Also with a nice slope edge for optimal launching, both paragliders and kites. Wind tends to come from the right, watch out for the rotors on the trees (especially kites)
West is also a beautiful, large meadow launch with enough space for hang gliders and paragliders. There is also a slope edge here for optimal take-offs for hang gliders. Caution is also advised here with crosswinds from the right. There are strong rotors from trees and the ridge which extends to the northwest (but this cannot be seen from the launch site).
Steep, wide starting lane behind the mountain restaurant.
The summit plateau of the Gaisberg can be easily reached all year round by car via the Gaisbergstraße or 6 times a day by Gaisberg bus. It accommodates around the far visible antenna 3 wonderful nature launch sites in direction north, east and west. The control zone of Salzburg Airport determines the airspace of the Gaisberg aircraft. The airfield is located in the CTR Salzburg, it may only be flown after activation of the TRA. Each pilot is required to have a disciplined flight behaviour and knowledge of the airspaces in order not to endanger the beautiful and unique flying terrain. Despite the restrictions, the Gaisberg has an undreamt-of potential. In spring and early summer the one or the other Vario may cheer you for the remarkable climb values. Due to airspace restrictions, cross-country flights to the south are concentrated over the Osterhorn Group. But also flights to Obertraun and back to the Gaisberg of more than 100 kilometers have already been flown. Sliders to the landing site in Aigen are almost always inside.
