From Grindelwald by cable car to Pfingstegg. From there 2 min. walk, right 100m next to the mountain station in the clearing. The launch site is relatively small. Max 2-3 umbrellas can be laid out. The start is in the fall line in the direction of the valley floor. Usually the wind comes up thermally along the slope, slightly from the left, rather short launch site. Thermals and soaring access directly in front of the starting point up to 50m on the right and up to 300m on the left of the starting point along the slope. In general, you have to fly close to the ground for the first few meters of altitude, only at the top of the rocky terrain will the ground distance be greatly increased.
The use is free of charge. The local Jungfrau Taechi Club is the operator and authorised signatory.
suitability
Normal start time 14:00-19:00. Thermals from 15:00. Except for foehn, usually easy to fly. Excellent for Bisenlagen and Nordstau as well as for cloudy Bisen weather. Partially light side wind from the left. Well suited for acro flying because it can be deeply re-hung. With Bise, fast climbing is guaranteed.
Steep meadow launch site south of the mountain station.
According to the exposition the Pfingstegg is particularly suitable for flights in the afternoon. But also in spring it offers good starting possibilities due to the relatively low level.
