Upper takeoff direction NW (besides the cablecar mountain station): Mostly a lot of pilots - you have to queue already prepared for take-off. This can cause quite a lot of sweat.
Often wonderful smooth flights with still good thermals in the late afternoon - about 5 pm. In case of constant wind from NE experienced pilots can also take off to NE - but first ask one of the locals/tandem pilots if it is safe enough!!
Lower takeoff (pictures 2 & 3) is a bit of a hike from the top, but easy set up. Lower take off is a narrow chute and winds will rotate in there. Watch the winds coming up carefully as there is a rock wall on right side that can cause pain.
The classic among flying sites with flights over the royal Neuschwanstein Castle.
The Tegelberg Flight Operations Regulations (FBO) must be observed!

Preparations for takeoff, such as sorting lines and putting on the harness, must be carried out outside the takeoff area. Then proceed to the takeoff point with the glider folded.
Every pilot requires the "green instruction card," available from FLY ROYAL PARAGLIDING (https://fly-royal.de).
At the valley station, in addition to the green instruction card, you must also present your pilot's license and proof of insurance, otherwise you will not be allowed to use the cable car.
Important: After takeoff, maintain a safe distance from the cable car, the cable car ropes, and the launch site (150 meters)!
Be sure to observe the landing areas! These are separate for paragliders and hang gliders.
Fly over roads at a minimum height of 10 meters.
Tandem flights are regulated by the Tegelbergbahn. Only flights from approved providers with the consent of the Tegelbergbahn may be carried out. Private tandem flights are not permitted.
The air traffic control reporting point for the Tegelberg and Buchenberg flying areas is at the FLY ROYAL PARAGLIDING Base & Landing Bar, directly at the Tegelberg landing site.

Yes. Pilots require the mandatory green briefing card for the flying site. FLY ROYAL PARAGLIDING issues this card upon presentation of a pilot's license and liability insurance (https://fly-royal.de). All pilots must comply with the Tegelberg Flight Operations Regulations (FBO).
