Delicate western approach in crosswinds
Highly technical southern approach (small, gentle slope, cliff, and powerful aerology)
Aerology on a day without dominant weather conditions:
The site is in the shade in the morning. Sunlight begins to shine around noon and in the early afternoon, allowing for takeoff in purely thermal conditions. The Alps then warm up, causing a west-east breeze to blow in from the Mediterranean, channeled by the Monts de Vaucluse to the north and the Luberon to the south. Depending on how dry the Alps are, the breeze will be stronger or weaker from one year to the next. In the late afternoon, the breeze gradually gives way to the usual restitution until sunset, allowing for a relaxing flight that is very much appreciated and characteristic of this site.
Luberon Regional Nature Park
The SW launch site is pleasantly steep but rocky. Be careful in southerly winds, as the lee lurks behind the bushes.
