The starting places are generally rather challenging. Some of the runways are very short!
Season: All year round (see cable car timetable)
Transportation: Funicular and cable car. Depending on the launch site, there is a further 20-minute walk.
Dangers: As some of the runways are very short, you should not take off if there is too little wind. In summer, thermal rotors can also develop on the south-western edge. Do not take off in foehn.
Wildlife protection: No flying at the eastern launch site from May 14 - June 14.
Fees: The take-off / landing fee of CHF 5 per day is voluntary. In case of bad weather, the fee includes a free descent by cable car. If you have not paid the take-off / landing fee, you have to pay for the descent.
Rating: The Chaeserrugg is a challenging flying area. However, if the conditions are right, you are in one of the most beautiful areas. The view of the Saentis and the entire Alpstein as well as Lake Walen is unique.
Relatively difficult without snow, as it is very hilly and rocky, easier in winter. Be careful in strong southerly winds, it could be a foehn!
Start window: All year round
