Geographical Structure of the District
It lies at an elevation of 1,100 meters and covers an area of 455.94 km². It has a rugged geographical structure. Lower Talas is a valley with an average elevation of 1,100 meters, while Upper Talas is a plateau with an elevation of 1,191 meters. It is located in the southeastern part of the county and rises to a height of 2,000 meters. Mount Ali is a volcanic mountain formed as a result of the eruption of Mount Erciyes.
There are no forests, streams, lakes, gorges, mountain passes, or beaches in our district.
It is covered with meadows, pastures, and grasslands. There are seven plateaus (Erciyes-Çalliyaurt, Çömlekçi-Güzelce, Cebir-Dadalí, Kadiyaurdu, Güzelce 2, Kepez-Elmali).
Central Anatolia Region
Ali Das, located on the outskirts of the Talas district in Kayseri province, is a favorite spot for pilots when weather conditions are favorable.
There are many paragliding clubs and tandem companies in the region. Turkey hosts numerous international championships, including the Ali Mountain Distance Flights, which host the paragliding championship and many international competitions, as well as gliding competitions.

Pilots should use designated takeoff areas and avoid leaving trash at landing sites. They should also be mindful of respecting property owners’ rights and avoiding activities that could lead to fires during the summer months, particularly at remote landing sites.
